Spiral replacement

Worm gear: a proven principle

Archimedes was an ancient Greek mathematician and inventor. He left his mark on his era with inventions such as the catapult, the lever and the screw.

Archimedes demonstrated that when a screw turns in a cylinder, it transports the material in front of it.

This proven principle leads to a trouble-free design that can transport muddy, sticky materials with ease.

Over the years, SPIRALENGINEERING has refined and optimized its auger manufacturing processes. We now manufacture worms of virtually any size ourselves.

Spirals are generally made from high-strength alloy steel in various flight thicknesses, but other materials can also be used, such as AISI, ASTM, 4140, 8620, SS304L, SS316L, Incoloy, Hardox and even aluminum, to name but a few.

The efficient solution

  • Shaftless sizes from 3.2 mm to 30 mm thickness on 3.2 mm to 80 mm (more if multi-threaded).
  • Step spirals.
  • Tandem inserts
  • High modular wear zones.
  • Brushes.
  • Bolted UHMW friction ring.
  • Our quality assurance
  • High torque resistance.
  • High torsional rigidity.
  • High buckling safety.
  • High stability.
  • Precise dimensions.
  • Low dead weight.
  • Low wear.
